Mourning Dove Messenger

I loved going to camp. Well, full disclosure, the first time I went, I cried for half a day because I didn't want to go. And then at the end of the week, I cried because I didn't want to leave. I loved it ever since.

Every morning, I'd wake up in desperate need of the bathroom (port-a-john). I'd get out of my bunk, with everyone still asleep, and tip toe as quiet as I could out of the cabin. It was usually cold in the early morning, misty, with dew on the grass.

And I'd hear the call of the mourning dove. Every morning. When the rest of the camp was asleep and it was just me, wearing my well-worn flip-flips with my feet completely wet from the dew. The sound of the mourning dove always brings a smile to my mouth. It always makes me stop and listen. It has the most beautiful call I've ever heard.

Today I heard the mourning dove cooing. The sound always gives me a feeling of peace, tranquility, and even a moment of healing. Messengers and messages are all around us, and they come in all forms.

What's calling you in to listen? messages are you receiving today?
